Brunswick Bound: An Independent Bookstore With Feeling

April 9, 2017

Brunswick’s Sydney Road is home to many independent businesses but few are as well known and celebrated as northern favourite Brunswick Bound. The homely bookstore has an inviting old-fashioned feel, with the service just as important as the range of books on offer.

Celebrating the stores 10 year anniversary this coming June, Brunswick Bound was opened by Brunswick residents Rob and Susie Arambasi. Noticing the lack of a good book store in the area, the two decided to forge ahead with their own, and the rest as they say, is history.

“From the beginning we set out to create a shop that we would consider a great bookshop,” says Rob about the stores origins. “This ethos carried through to everything; look, feel and what stock we carry,” something you can immediately tell when browsing the stores hundreds of titles displayed attractively throughout the space. Brunswick Bound caters to all types of booklovers, often selling unique and hard to find titles. From art design and detective novels through to biographies and children’s books, there is something for everyone. On the off chance you can’t find the book you’re after, the staff are more than happy to order the item if it’s available.

Along with stocking a tremendous selection of books, Brunswick Bound also sells a fantastic range of cds and vinyl along with stationary (you can’t go past the beautiful floral cards and notebooks from Studio Sue), jewellery and other assorted gift ideas. But above all it’s the service that has helped make Brunswick Bound such a success over the years. Everyone involved in the business has a friendly manner and are experts at their chosen profession and always on hand to offer advice on new reading material or help find the title you’re after.

It’s a credit to Rob and Susie for creating a vibrant and welcoming store many consider Brunswick’s number one bookstore. If you’re in the area and looking for something new to read, be sure to stop by and experience this wonderful shopfront.
