Heartland Records: 24 Years in the Business

For lovers of music and merchandise, the stairway to heaven leads directly (or, close enough) to Heartland Records in North Melbourne. This independent music store has been operating for 24 years, with owner, Paul Cook around to fulfil every music fanatic’s wishes.

Originally located in West Melbourne, Heartland Records has moved to a large space in North Melbourne, filled with new and secondhand vinyl, CDs, DVDs, and merchandise, including posters and t-shirts. Whether you’re searching for a new release, or a deep back catalogue title, Heartland Records stocks it all. Although a wide range of music genres are on offer (from 60s, to Stoner, to Pop and Jazz, plus many more), it’s well known for its specialty in heavy metal music.

With a five star rating on Facebook, Heartland Record prides itself in providing reasonable prices with great product knowledge. Staff is friendly and approachable, willing to go the extra mile to assist you obtain your dream music products. Even those hard-to-find, rare CDs and records, don’t rule out Heartland Records – there have been many successful cases of customers finally finding that one album they’ve been searching for.

There are regular events advertised, including the upcoming Record Store Day, on Saturday, April 22. The shop will be stocked to the brim with new release vinyl and back catalogue. There will be the usual huge array of exclusive R.S.D. releases, as well as hundreds of used and sale records on the day. There will also be a giveaway which you won’t want to miss out on – a raffle featuring a Reloop RP2000 turntable, valued at $450 was won by a lucky customer in 2016, just to give you a taste of the kind of prize you could be up for.
