Sister Corita’s Summer of Love
Melbourne Uni, Parkville / Now until 26th March

Sister Corita’s Summer of Love is a remarkable journey through the life and work of Corita Kent, better known as Sister Corita. Sister Corita’s work borrowed magpie-like from signs and slogans, popular song lyrics, billboards, product packaging and magazine advertising, transporting messages of joy, faith, love, the power of God, and protest against the political crises of the times.The exhibition also includes two films about Sister Corita: Mary’s Day (1964) directed by Bayliss Glascock; and Alleluia: The life and art of Corita Kent: the ‘60s (1967) directed by Thomas Conrad.  Event Link

Lemaitre Falls Festival Sideshow

Lemaitre is a Norwegian indie electronic duo hailing from Oslo. The duo consists of members Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund, who met originally as schoolmates in Lillehammer, in southeastern Norway. Motorhead cover band Ace Of Spades get the action underway, with Metallica meets Iron Maiden giants Envenomed, thrash metal locals Atomic Death Squad, heavy hitters Espionage, and hard rockers Espionage bringing the heat for what is sure to be a night of crunching riffs and head splitting vocals. The first Rose St. Market of 2017, returning after a short Christmas & New Year break. After 14 years providing up and coming artists a place to showcase their wares, The Rose Street Markets are back this Sunday for another year.
