Passionate Tongues featuring Amy Bodossian
The Brunswick Hotel, Brunswick / 7:30pm

If poetry is your thing, head down to The Brunswick Hotel on Monday. Hosted by ‘the patron-saint of Melbourne poetry,’ poet and photographer Michael Reynolds, what began as a one-off gig on Valentine’s Day in 1999, has turned into one of the longest running gigs in Melbourne, now hosted every second Monday at The Brunswick Hotel, with a diverse range of features from Melbourne and sometimes from beyond, and a substantial space for open mic, it is great for first time readers or performers.

This week features critically acclaimed performance artist, story teller, cabaret starlet, poet and character comedienne, Amy Bodossian, She’s been on Spicks and Specks, been nominated for a Green Room Award, and performed at countless festivals around Australia. These include The Falls Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, The Big day Out, The Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Fringe, and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Event Link

Shimmerlands Outdoor Cinemas – One More Time with Feeling 
The University of Melbourne, Parkville / 8.30 pm

Shimmerlands Outdoor Cinemas is featuring ‘One More Time with Feeling’ a documentary about Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ sixteenth studio album The Skeleton TreeOne More Time With Feeling is perhaps the most grief-ridden and devastating work in the 59-year-old’s multi medium-spanning oeuvre. Originally a performance-based concept, One More Time With Feeling documents Cave’s nigh-impossible reconciliation with the world around him following the tragic death of his 15-year-old son. Event Link

BLOOM (EP launch)

Check out BLOOM at the Workers Club on Wednesday the 11th of January as she debuts her new single with her live band. BLOOM is a musician from the Mornington Peninsula who recently released her first four track EP, ‘Bitter Sweet’ and came runners up in the Melbourne Music Bank competition 2016. BLOOM blends indie/pop vibes with ambient neyo/soul influences. Event Link

Lehmo Live
The Comic’s Lounge, North Melbourne / 6:30pm

If you looking for a laugh on Thursday night, why not head over to The Comic’s Lounge to see Lehmo.

Lehmo is one of Australia’s most experienced and well-travelled comedians, and his live work has seen him headline at comedy clubs for well over ten years in all corners of the globe – USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Lehmo currently hosts the new GOLD 104.3 breakfast show in Melbourne with Jo Stanley from 6am to 9am every weekday morning and is a panellist on Network Ten’s The Project, appearing on the show every Friday.

Lost and Found Market
Lygon St, Brunswick East / 10am-6pm

The Lost and Found Market started out as a group of collectors selling things in abandoned nightclub on Smith Street, Collingwood in 2005. They have since moved several times, to ever larger spaces until 2011 when they found their current building, a massive 1000 square metre warehouse located in Brunswick East.

They are the biggest indoor market in the Northern suburbs, with over 60 stallholders selling vintage furniture, industrial, lighting, art, fashion, books, musical instruments, records, kitchenalia and bric-a-brac as well as a huge variety of vintage and retro items.

The event runs on both Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm at 551 Lygon St. in Brunswick East, and come highly recommended! Event Link
