Ship Ahoy – Atlantis Cruise Party

Suppress the Monday blues and hit up Sircuit to welcome the 2018 Atlantis Mardi Gras Cruise in Melbourne. DJ Mark Robbo will man the deck, plus shows from Lexi Gaga, Sasha Starr, Zak Love and Brent Leslie Fox. The love boat is bringing in 1800 men, so climb aboard for free and dance the night away!

Don’t fear, the tribe of Latin Dance will help you out, with dance classes to learn Cuban Salsa and Rueda de Casino. Sweat a little, mingle with great people, and let yourself enjoy some mid-week fun! From beginner to advanced, there’s a class available for everyone’s skill set. From $15-25 for the night, it’s an easy price to pay to impress your next dance-loving partner.

Poetry Featuring Michael Reynolds

A late bloomer to poetry, Michael Reynolds started putting his pen to paper after coming across a reading at The Dan O’Connell Hotel in 1999 at the age of 33. Later that year, he began hosting Passionate Tongues Poetry in Brunswick and continues to this day. Reading his poetry all over Melbourne, and occasionally interstate, as well as publishing a chapbook Upon Finding A Chair In The Forest, not to mention being the only recipient of the Sandon McLeod award for services to poetry in Melbourne, his talent is undeniable. Feel his words through pints of bevs this Wednesday at Absinthia.

Continuing the celebrated success of ‘S.O.S’, JAMO is occupying The Night Cat stage for a debut live show. The local 20 year old writes and produces emotive feel good dance music; his name no stranger in the electronic music scene with numerous nation-wide headline shows and festivals tucked under his belt. For a unique summer city sound, along with local talents featuring in support, including BLOOM, YOUNGSOUL, MOONAH LINKS and LOUIE P, there’s no better excuse than to head to the area for a boogie.

Sydney Road Street Party 2018

Brunswick Music Festival is taking Sydney Road by storm in this live fiesta of local performing talent. An extravaganza of sounds, smells and sights, Melbourne’s biggest street party also happens to show off the best of Brunswick; the people, the music and the traders. 6 stages, 200 artists talented in a variety of styles from gospel, blue, hip hop, rock to latin, soul, jazz and more. You can also experience grouse tunes at the iconic local venues, including The Penny Black, The Brunswick Green, The Spotted Malard, and more. The sidewalk will be packed with food stalls, market stalls, as well as plenty of bars to grab a bev or two from. Also check out Blak Dot Gallery for their first ever Artists Market, showcasing Kulture including contemporary and customary art practitioners, designers and makers from local Indigenous nations and international Indigenous communities.
