Baden: The Lost Australian Landscape Artist
Lulu Cafe & Gallery, North Melbourne / 8am – 4pm

Baden Johnson brings the Australian landscape into urban spaces at Lulu Cafe & Gallery as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

‘As we become more urbanised, I decided to produce street art in the form of spray painted landscape pasteups. I create these pasteups to remind the city dwellers of what lies beyond our ever expanding cities. These paste ups are of real places I have visited, Terang, Baxter & Tynong to name a few locations. As an artist I want to continue the Australian landscape tradition. But I want to bring it into a 21st century context, by placing my work in the street art laneways throughout inner city Melbourne. Including Hosier, AC/DC, Rankins & Tattersalls Lane ways. Bollart in Bourke St Mall & Vic Market. Fitzroy, Collingwood, North Melbourne, St Kilda & Balaclava. This exhibition is of a group of paintings that has inspired my street art. A map will be available of where some of my paste ups are located, around Melbourne. All paintings are for sale’.
Baden: The Lost Australian Landscape Artist, is running until 1st October, so if you can’t make Tuesday or another night this week, free up some time for this highly recommended exhibition.
