Everyone’s new favourite day of the week, Radio Bar brings us bass slingas from Australia wide and over the globe. Head to the Bella Union on Tuesday and shake it like a Polaroid picture at Anna’s Go-Go Academy!
Go-go was the number one dance style of the 60s, and now it’s back and more fun than ever. From the cheeky moves of Ann-Margret and Elvis in Viva Las Vegas, to the super cool stylings of John Travolta and Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, students will learn the exciting art of go-go dancing in a fun and social environment. No dance experience is necessary, and in every class, students will learn a range of fun moves they can use straight away on the dance floor.

Learn to Meditate with Buddhist teacher Jake Zakarauskas

There’s going to be a lot of partying this week, so why not take a step back and practice some mindfulness on Wednesday evening with Buddhist teacher Jake Zakarauskas.
Each class consists of two guided meditations and a teaching to help us solve our daily problems, let go of negative minds and find the lasting happiness we seek! The classes are self-contained so you can drop in any week. There is no need to book or bring anything. Classes begin with a simple guided breathing meditation followed by a teaching and a second guided meditation based on the topic. There is also an opportunity for discussion, followed by refreshments.
No meditation experience is necessary, the classes are suitable for beginners and experienced meditators, and everyone is welcome.

Creative Records and The Evelyn Hotel celebrate the occasion with a massive Hottest 100 Afterparty, featuring some of Melbourne’s hottest acts.

Celebrating eats, beats and treats, the family-friendly Supper Market offers top food trucks, great music and a range of market stalls each Friday night for seven weeks this summer.
Get down there on Friday to catch musicians from the Asanti Dance Theatre. Joined by international guest artists from their company in Ghana, the group specialise in traditional and contemporary African dance, music and acrobatics the company display an extensive skill set that will leave you speechless. Undulating torsos, flips through rings of fire, raw energy, exhilarating dance moves and phenomenal acrobatics are just some of the elements you can expect from a performance by Asanti Dance Theatre. Presented by Shimmerlands, this will be a celebration of ska in all its forms. There will be smokin’ Caribbean BBQs, drinks, scooters, ska music and a whole lot of Skankin’.
Featuring Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Ska Vendors, Nononsense & Project Collective Ska (SYD) the dance floor is sure to be bouncing. While DJs Mohair Slim and Jesse I, will be spinning the great tunes that built the ska movement over the past 50+ years.

A passionate and captivating musician, Ronit has developed a devoted following around the globe that grows with each performance. Audiences are drawn to her strong vocals and emotive honest lyricism, while being floored by her fiery guitar playing. Her sound is a melting pot of soul, roots and rock with hints of Middle Eastern inspired melody, due in part to her Israeli heritage. Ronit currently resides in New York and will be playing a handful of Australian performances this Summer including this Sunday at the Wesley Anne. This one is free, so get yourself down there pronto!
