A Melbourne life drawing club with a difference. Buff Life Drawing is held every Monday up stairs at The Union Club Hotel, Fitzroy. Who cares if you’re a beginner or a pro? Get yourself there, grab a beer and join the gang for this new , chilled out, unpretentious life drawing night.

Slamalamadingdong! March feat. Bravo Child

Are you the next big poet? This is SLAMALAMADINGDONG! Poetry Slam’s November 3-ROUND SLAM!
Slamalamadingdong is in full-swing after Feb’s exciting slam, marching on our way to the Grand Slam in May. March’s Slama is going to be wild and push boundaries with their feature Bravo Child.
Slamalama (for short) is a 3-round PSI-certified Poetry Slam, which means it’s 3 rounds of poets, performing 3 minutes per poem for the chance to represent Australia in worldwide poetry slams.
ROUND 1: 12 POETS
ROUND 2: 6 POETS
ROUND 3: 3 POETS
$50, AND A FEATURED VIDEO ON MELBOURNESPOKENWORD.COM
Competing poets must register between 6:30pm and 6:45pm to compete! Remember, slammers don’t pay the full entry free, but $5 to register, which goes toward fundraising to send a team of poets to the US to compete in the Slamalamadingdong team.

ShitGardens Exhibition II
Lulu Cafe & Gallery, North Melbourne / 6:00pm
In celebration of the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show 2017, the team behind ShitGardens will be presenting a pop-up bar, featuring a selection of original works as well as curation of works submitted by their instagram followers.
Building on the success of the last exhibition, the boys will be working alongside Lulu in bringing the bar to ‘life’ with a ShitGardens themed make-over and a selection of kitsch, garden-esque tapas.
As noted, the exhibition will feature both original and submitted content (at an affordable price), with proceeds going to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).
The opening / pop-up bar will begin on Friday 31/3 at 6pm, with the exhibition closing on Sunday 2/4, when Lulu’s doors shut.

Presented by PBS 106.7FM Melbourne and hosted by the magnificent Bella Union, Soul-A-Go-Go is back this April for special extended “end of daylight savings” edition! With fantastic DJs banging out the 45s all the way through to 4am.
Get down low and catch PBS DJs Chelsea Wilson, Miss Goldie (Boss Action), Vince Peach (Soul Time), Shio (Cross Pollinate) and Richie 1250 (Stone Love) plus very special guest DJs, Coco Brown and DJ Lady Soul for Melbourne’s best soul and funk party, Soul-A-Go-Go.

TRANSGENRE has come into its second year, bringing a whole new lineup of talented and important trans and/or non-binary artists and performers to Howler. The eight hour music festival exists to give the stage to these amazing, forward-thinking, and hugely relevant voices.
